Friends, I’ve found a new love and her name is calligraphy. I think that we are going to have a lot of fun together.
This weekend I had the absolute honor of attending a calligraphy workshop taught by the one and only lettering wonder Molly Jacques. If you have two eyes and an Internet connection you’ve probably heard of her, or at least seen her work! I’ve never picked up a calligraphy pen in my life but when I heard she’d be on my side of town (Ann Arbor!) I signed up for a spot as fast as you can say “I hope I sit next to someone with handwriting more terrible than mine.” It was an absolute blast and I may or may not have practiced when I got home, the next morning, through the weekend, and even after a few beers. It’s just so fun! The above illustration is one of my first endeavors with a quote that’s incredibly applicable to my life as of late. Definitely room for improvement.
