Wiard’s Apple Orchard

My fiancé is an operating room nurse and he absolutely loves it. However, sometimes his work schedule is less than ideal. Recently he got called in at 1:00 in the morning to do a liver transplant, leading him to shuffle out of our apartment with sleepy eyes and a travel mug of fresh coffee to help him get through the night. He ended up getting home at 10:00 am.

Good news though, there is a bright side! He ended up getting the rest of the day off, and suddenly we had a whole Tuesday together. After a couple of hours of shut eye, we decided to go to our local apple orchard, Wiard’s, since we now had the time! We shared cinnamon donuts and a gallon of apple cider, the latter which was an astonishing $11. Can you believe it? I feel so crotchety complaining about price hikes. That apple shortage is such a bummer.

I brought along my camera for practice and managed to get a few pretty photos.

The antique Wiard’s cider jug behind glass is my favorite.  -L

We *are* using their printing presses, though.

This ain't your granddaddy's print shop.
