Gifts wrapped with kraft paper, felt bows, and a lotta love

With Christmas only a few days away, I figured I should get around to finally posting something holiday related! Last month I was super inspired by Amanda’s post about DIY wrapping paper over on her blog, Wit & Whistle, and subsequently I invested in the BIGGEST roll of kraft paper I’ve ever seen. Seriously, Amanda said it was big, but damn. I needed help hauling it inside and it’s gonna last me about 5 years longer than I expected!

I was really excited about the idea of customizing each gift individually. Using classic red and white baker’s twine, ribbon, handlettered names on cardstock tags, a white marker, and washi tape, each box was decorated with love. A huge perk to this project was the ecofriendliness of it all, and I was able to amp it up by combining the recyclable kraft paper with homemade felt bows (made using this tutorial). I’ve got nothing against store-bought wrapping paper, but when you got red and green stripes with blue snowmen and rainbow ribbons, you have to admit, coordinating gifts just look SO much better.

We *are* using their printing presses, though.

This ain't your granddaddy's print shop.
