Friends, I’m so excited to share this! I don’t dabble in branding very often but THIS is the kind of work I just love. When Bonnie Bakhtiari of b is for bonnie design contacted me several months ago about lettering a logo for her brand refresh, and I was beside myself excited. We were roomies at Making Things Happen in March this year and connected instantly, talking a mile a minute, drinking drugstore wine out of hotel coffee mugs, and staying up waaay too late sharing our big, big dreams. Bonnie has been my business BFF ever since and I thank my lucky stars I have her. She’s creator of beautiful brands, a shopkeeper of inspirational gold foil prints and desk accessories, and a recent entrepreneurial coach. Bonnie is also one of the sweetest and kindest hearts I know. I jumped at the chance of collaborating with this girl that’s got such lovely taste!
Once Bonnie had sent me the mood board she put together, I knew my job was going to be easy as pie. It’s equal parts romantic, feminine, and glamourous. Gorgeous, right?
We worked together on several alternate designs for Bonnie’s new logo: one line as her web header, a condensed version for her business card and social media icons, and the sweetest little “b” as her submark. We also ended up creating the “hello lovely” for her website and various stationery material to keep things cohesive.
I can see Bonnie signing love letters with that b, can’t you? 🙂
Here’s what Bonnie has to say about her new branding:
For the most part, I felt like [my previous branding] grew with me but I wanted something that reflected what b is for bonnie has become over these last few years of hard work and dreaming big. At the heart of my brand lies a deep respect and appreciation for authentic and joyful living, celebrating each day, and loving fiercely. I wanted to infuse this updated brand presence with a healthy dose of glam, romance and joy, and I feel the final result hit the nail right on the head! Maybe it’s because I handled the design and styling, but I feel like every facet of this rebrand, from the mood board to the small finishing touches, is so me.
Bonnie has a keen eye for the small details and a love for luxurious cotton paper — my kind of girl. She brought her new logo to life through gold foiled stationery in the form of mini business cards, note cards, and thank you cards combined with the softest blush envelopes. And isn’t her photo styling just perfect? I don’t think there’s anything this girl can’t do.
Bonnie, thank you so much for the opportunity to collaborate on something other than emoji-laden texts! Even though those are my favorite, obviously. What a joy it’s been to put our heads together and enhance your lovely new brand. xo
Are you a business owner looking for a lovely handlettered logo? I’d love to hear all about it!
