As a certified Paper Person®, it’s no secret I love everything about snail mail. Sending mail, receiving mail, keeping special cards and letters in my cherished memory box. I mean, facilitating the sending of mail is literally my job! Especially in this internet era. I think the ability to be in constant contact with others has made the written word even that much more special, don’t you?
That’s why I was so excited to mail out a little spin on classic holiday cards. They were an A+ reason to design something fun “for me” and end 2019 on a bright note! Even better? They’re a fantastic excuse to remind our Paper & Honey couples and clients, friends, friendors, and family that we appreciate them an obnoxious amount.
These holiday cards have a bit of everything: envelope liners, vintage postage stamps, wax seals, vintage-inspired typography, a heartfelt note, and deep letterpress printing on my favorite handmade paper in the loveliest sage green.
In my humble opinion, this hand-illustrated lion just might be the star. I LOVE HIM. When engaged couples aren’t exactly knocking down your door, begging for jungle animals all over their wedding invitations (I can’t imagine why?), you come up with a reason to make it happen anyway.
I may or may not be dreaming up next year’s cards already. In the meantime, cheers to the roaring 20s: a brand new decade of exploration, courage, and following your curiosity. Thank you so very much for following along.
