Time to dust this thing off a little bit only to leave again. You might have noticed I haven’t updated in a few weeks, especially not within my Make Your Mark series – I’m sorry! It feels like my whole life has been put on pause with my wedding fast approaching. Only 18 days left and I can hardly believe it. Even harder to believe is how my to-do list is hardly getting any shorter.
I’ve been feeling a heart-pounding amount of stress, and since losing my hair and being the baldest bride isn’t an idea I’m particularly into, I’m going to pick up my little business and blog sometime around the end of May or beginning of June. By then I will be refreshed, home from my honeymoon, not planning a whole wedding, and married. Still weird. Still not real. I can’t wait.
Anyway, thanks for sticking around, friends. :) I’ll see you soon.

Life has been pretty sweet to me lately.
- Max and I have been taking advantage of this awesome weather to finally do some yard work, as it took zero priority when we moved in our house in November. We have about a half acre and there are tons of leaves. It’s not terrible though – last night we used our firepit for the first time to burn what we had cleared up, had a couple of beers, and enjoyed what felt like the beginning of summer at our new home.
- I’ve been designing wedding materials like a fiend in order to open up shop by summer. I’m really happy with what I have accomplished so far. I’m a slow designer as I’m really picky and like to perfect things, so the fact that I have things I deem good enough to sell to others is a Big Deal.
- Our wedding shower is this Sunday! What.
- Our wedding is in a monthish! WHAT.
- A few of my very best and dearest friends from Chicago are coming to Michigan this weekend to celebrate my wedding shower with me. Tomorrow we’re celebrating a birthday as well, which means sushi and a night on the town. I can’t wait.
- I’m going to have a gyro for dinner tonight which should be at the top of this list, really.
Thanks for checking in this week as always, friends. - L

In what I’m taking as a sure sign that April is going to be an A+ month, my Make Your Mark series has been featured! Katy from All Sorts of Pretty emailed me a few weeks ago with approximately one million nice words. Her blog is dedicated to finding beauty in everyday life and I am so tickled that my work has made it onto her Daily Dose of Pretty series.
I started this weekly project as a way to encourage myself and build my skillset, but the positive reception has been such an unexpected bonus. Thanks again, Katy! :) - L

Tried something new this week for my 10th Make Your Mark post! I’m pretty excited that I stuck with it this long, and even more excited that I can see progress.
Michigan has finally decided to bring spring around so I foresee a weekend reading on the deck in my future. Have a good one friends. - L
